Executive Assistant
HOUSTON – KHOU 11, a Belo owned station in Houston, Texas, is seeking a highly experienced Executive Assistant to provide administrative support to the President and General Manager. Key responsibilities include: maintaining the highest level of confidentiality in handling sensitive information concerning the organization; scheduling and organizing various events and activities such as meetings, travel arrangements for the president and department heads, as needed; managing phone calls for GM; typing and designing general correspondence, memos, charts, tables, graphs, presentations; negotiating on behalf of the employer with some degree of authority with vendors; maintain KHOU FCC political and public files; and complete quarterly FCC reports as required.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten (10) years experience supporting leadership at the executive-level, a high level of proficiency of MS Office Suite, strong organization, and prioritization skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy. Executive Producer (9/26/12)
KHOU 11, a Belo owned station in Houston, Texas, is seeking an Executive Producer to oversee the station’s news programs and help implement the strategies developed by the news director to improve the news product on a daily basis. Key responsibilities include: participating in editorial meetings where stories are discussed and assigned; ensuring reporters are clear on the expectations regarding the focus of the story; production techniques, etc.; working closely with the assignment desk on story coverage; checking producer formats for pace, flow, graphics, and content; reading and editing newscast scripts; assisting the Executive News Director and Assistant News Director in critiquing broadcasts; scheduling producers and writers. KHOU 11, a Belo owned station in Houston, Texas, is seeking a Photojournalist who will be responsible for providing complete and visual coverage of news events in a fair, unbiased and accurate manner. The selected candidate will photograph news events, both live and on tape, for news programs and edit stories on Non-linear or similar system to the fullest capability of the equipment. The selected candidate must have a valid Texas driver’s license; a minimum of five years of photojournalist experience preferred; a strong background in ENG (Electronic News Gathering) operations a plus; college degree preferred. Key responsibilities include editing daily news stories for KHOU and KHOU.com, as well as tuning in microwave and satellite shots, bringing in FTP feeds, and archiving shows. Ideal candidates will have 2-3 years of non-linear editing experience in a newsroom, work well with others, work well under pressure and have the ability to turn a high number of stories in a short period of time. Experience with Sony Xpri editing software is a plus, as well as experience with non-linear products such as Adobe Premier Pro, Avid, Final Cut Pro, or Grass Valley Edius Software. Digital Sales Coordinator (Posted 10/12/12)
KHOU 11, the CBS affiliate in Houston is seeking a highly motivated sales professional to join our team as the digital sales coordinator. The primary focus of this position will be to oversee the development, implementation and delivery of on-line sales campaigns. The Digital Sales Coordinator will work closely with KHOU account executives to bring value to the client before, during and after the sale. This position will also be responsible for working directly with creative assets to ensure a quality product for the client.

The Digital Sales Coordinator will also work closely with Sales Managers to ensure all campaigns start on time, end on time and deliver properly. From time to time, special situations may arise that require coordination of other activities to assist the sales team. KHOU 11 is looking for a highly organized, creative, “can-do” Audience Coordinator. The person hired will be responsible for booking audience members for our daily morning show, Great Day Houston, that conform to our target demographics. In addition, he/she will work with the show producers to assure that the studio audiences match the daily show content by pre-interviewing potential audience members. The Audience Coordinator will be in-charge of the audience from arrival, to “warm-up”, to photos, to departure making sure that they have a great experience while visiting our studios. If you are a people person with great local connections this could be the job for you. College degree required. Experience working in television industry is a plus. Requirements
