NEWS
Weather Anchor — Full Time Regular
Create daily, accurate, creative weather presentations. Must be able to make multiple weathercasts different and interesting. Work with show producers for out of segment features. Work with weather team in scheduling and improving weather presentations. Help coordinate severe weather coverage. Present live weather segments from remote locations. Assist assignment desk in dispatching crews to weather related stories. Build and maintain weather related computer graphics. Make public appearances on behalf of station and other duties as assigned. Requires minimum 3 yrs experience as broadcast television weather forecaster. Meteorology degree and/or weather seals required. Must be able to work with WSI or comparable weather system. Must be able to work varied hours including holidays and weekends as needed. Must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Tape Editor — Full Time Regular
Edit video clips for TV newscasts, special programs and segments as assigned. Works closely with reporters, writers and producers to assemble video segments. Assists in maintaining quality control and story content. Other duties may be assigned to the position as deemed appropriate and necessary. College degree preferred. Minimum 2 yrs experience as video news editor in a medium to major television market. Must be a self-starter, work well under pressure and is capable of editing quickly, accurately, and creatively. Must possess good news judgement and be familiar with technical operations of fast-paced newsroom.
Senior Web Producer — Full Time Regular
Conceptualize/produce high profile creative on-line material. Coordinate and supervise on-line editorial and administrative staff. Perform duties of on-line writer/producer, specializing in print style writing, copy editing, and editorial gathering. Supervise editorial staff on HTML, JSP, FLASH, and Photoshop. Interface with newsroom managers to create compelling web material that utilizes new distribution platforms and capitalizes the use of information from various sources. Ensure website is coded to standards consistent with web style guidelines set by national in-house web team. Bachelor’s degree and minimum three years web production management preferred. Expert knowledge of web production, traffic reporting, and ad serving systems. Solid understanding of web standards, design, and usability as well as knowledge of print and b’cast news standards/styles. Knowledge of common web applications/architecture. Highly skilled in all areas of a/v digitizing, editing, and encoding techniques. Advanced knowledge of internet publishing software and content mgmt systems and understanding of user on-line behavior. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and adhere to strict deadlines. Excellent communication skills are essential.
Assignment Editor — Full Time Regular
Responsible for monitoring scanners, maintaining the assignment file, and coordinating field crews. Requires self-starter with good news judgment and the ability to multi-task and think quickly in a fast paced environment. Need good eyes & ears for news and the ability to get the word out to the staff. Will work with managers and staff in news gathering and assist producers in the development of newscasts including tuning in live shots and booking satellite feeds. Two years newsroom assignment desk or associate producer experience required. Web skills a big plus. Must also be a team player with the ability to work well
under pressure for extended periods of time. Must have excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
SALES
Local Sales Manager — Full Time Regular
Lead team of AE’s to achieve company revenue goals by maximizing revenue including but not limited to direct sales, agency sales, internet sales, and NTR. Train, motivate, mentor, and inspire sales team to succeed. Set monthly, annual revenue goals and monitor the progress of each AE. Participate in the dept’s annual budget process. Provide revenue pacing and forecast reports to VP/GSM. College degree in Marketing or related field preferred. 3 yrs experience in broadcast television sales management preferred. Must have proven track record of being a proactive, strategic thinking manager who can motivate people to succeed. Need excellent communication skills both written and verbal with good follow-up skills. Must be able to work under pressure and be a team leader.
Sales Coordinator — Full Time Regular
Responsible for clerical functions of sales dept to include: data entry, contract management, misc sales projects, answering phones, processing orders, handling correspondence, organizing files to insure SAQ compliance, and maintaining data bases. College degree preferred. Two years administrative experience in corporate environment. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be self-motivated, extremely organized, have a keen eye for detail, excellent troubleshooting abilities, work well under pressure with ability to meet stringent guidelines, and understand team concept. Accounting experience a Plus!
Account Executive — Full Time Regular
Service and maintain existing account list (agency and direct), develop new business, increase station revenue/share of existing accounts. Cold calling and prospecting required. Assist in annual budgeting process, achieve budget and market share goals, and accurately forecast existing revenue and potential revenue to management. College degree and 2 yrs broadcast sales experience preferred. Knowledge of research programs such as: TV-Scan, Nielsen, Scarborough, and/or CMR preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Must be self-motivated with proven track record of success. Must be able to work under pressure, be extremely organized, and maintain team spirit.
FINANCE
Financial Staff Accountant — Full Time Regular
Review and/or prepare month-end reports, weekly revenue analysis reports, account analyses, journal entries, and all other facets of general ledger accounting. Will also assist with accounts payable processing, act as back-up for billing coordinator in log post functions, and other duties as assigned. Requires degree in Accounting or Finance and minimum 2 yrs experience as general ledger accountant. Broadcast experience helpful. Requires excellent analytical skills. Must be self-motivated, extremely organized, and possess excellent Excel spreadsheet skills. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to interact well with various station personnel. Must be extremely detail oriented with ability to work within strict time parameters.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Human Resources Director — Full Time Regular
Responsibilities include performing all generalist duties for the Fox O&O duopoly, including but not limited to direct and manage the Stations’ employee relations and employment programs and initiatives, recruiting/applicant tracking, performance management and performance evaluation administration, FMLA, worker’s compensation, policy administration, and affirmative action compliance and monitoring. Candidate will work in concert with Station management and Corporate Human Resources to ensure that all employment regulatory requirements are met and that all Company policies are adhered to. Position requires at least five (5) years HR Management experience, Bachelors degree in HR Management, Organizational Development or related discipline, or equivalent work experience. Required skill set includes effective written/verbal communications, creative problem solving and conflict management, and strong computer skills. Must also have strong leadership skills.
