KTRK-TV, an ABC O&O located in Houston, TX is looking for an aggressive and motivated Assignment Editor for a temporary assignment.

The successful applicant will be responsible for all facets of the assignment desk, which includes but is not limited to making beat-checks, answering phones, monitoring police and fire radios, getting information and developing stories.

The candidate should be detail-oriented and able to handle many different responsibilities at the same time. Good news judgment, an even temper, patience and strong communication skills are essential. The candidate must be able to take directions, but should also be able to work without supervision. The candidate will work nights, weekends and must have a flexible schedule.

The ideal applicant should have experience as a television news assignments editor. This is not a clerical or secretarial position. Only candidates with news experience will be considered for the position.
