KHOU-TV 11 in Houston, Tx has an opening for a Human Resources Director reporting to the General Manager. This position supports KHOU 11 in Houston and KENS 5 in San Antonio, TX. We are seeking an energetic individual who enjoys the challenges and rewards of being involved in a fast-paced, exciting business.

As Human Resources Director, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of Human Resources with a focus on recruiting, retention, employee relations, and regulatory compliance. You’ll also provide direction and guidance to KHOU’s and KENS’300+ managers and employees on performance management and career development. In concert with our parent company, Belo Corp., you will administer training, new employee orientation, compensation programs, and other Corporate-driven HR programs.

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelors degree, preferably in Human Resources or related field, and a minimum of 5 years experience in human resources functions. You must demonstrate familiarity with fundamental human resource subjects. PHR and SPHR Certification preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must. Computer literacy, both HRIS (familiarity with Workday a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite, is also a requirement. Travel between Houston and San Antonio on a weekly basis is required to provide HR support.

KHOU, a Belo owned station in Houston, has an immediate opening for a part-time Production Assistant. The selected candidate will be responsible for distributing scripts for newscasts, operating teleprompter for newscasts, writing stories, locating file video, researching stories to gather information and contributing material to our multi-media platforms.
Candidates should have some television experience, be a self-starter, have an eye for detail and an interest in writing and producing. KHOU, a Belo-owned CBS TV station in Houston, is looking for a creative storyteller to join our team of award winning journalists. The selected candidate will be responsible for reporting and writing stories for on-air and for our website; reporting live from the field and on tape; developing sources, contacts and enterprise stories. 

In addition to 3-5 years reporting experience, candidates must have exceptional communication skills and a proven track record in developing sources, breaking stories and producing high-quality, thoughtful reports about important local issues.

College degree preferred.

KHOU-TV, a CBS affiliate, is seeking a part-time “Production Operator”.  Duties include operation of studio cameras and other studio equipment for live newscasts and various studio productions. Other duties may include operating field cameras, studio audio and editing. Candidates will preferably have video production and editing experience.  College degree preferred.
