KHOU 11 is currently seeking a meteorologist to join our weather team. The selected candidate will be responsible for producing and presenting weather segments on regular newscasts and as needed in conjunction with other station programming. This positions reports to the Chief Meteorologist.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, produce and present live and taped, on air forecasts for daily newscasts and/or special programs as directed by chief meteorologist and news director.
- Prepare, produce and present live and taped, on air forecasts in tandem with other on air meteorologists.
- Prepare and post to weather updates to khou.com and other various multimedia platforms daily.

KHOU 11 is looking for an executive producer for our newsroom. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the station’s late afternoon/evening news programs and help implement the strategies developed by the news director to improve the news product.
Responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in daily editorial meetings and contribute ideas for newscasts;
- Work with reporters on assigned stories and provide guidance and direction on story research and content;
- Work closely with the assignment desk on story coverage;

Overview
KHOU 11, a Belo owned CBS affiliate in Houston, has an immediate opening for an Assistant News Director. We’re searching for a dynamic newsroom leader to oversee day to day operation of our enterprise driven news organization in market #10. Candidates should have previous news director, assistant news director, or executive producer experience in a medium to large market. The assistant news director must be able to devise and execute a winning strategy built around strong reporting and storytelling. Responsibilities
- Supervises specific KHOU 11 News employees at the direction of the Executive News Director.

TECHNICAL OPERATIONS

Belo owned KHOU 11, CBS 10th market network affiliate is seeking a broadcast engineer to maintain studios, master control, and assist with repair and preventative maintenance of all other equipment in the broadcast facility. Baseline educational requirements include an Associates Degree in electronic technology or technical school. Must be self motivated, precise, and be able to work various shifts. An SBE certification in television is optional but preferred. Individual must be familiar with all broadcast related FCC rules and regulations.
The candidate must have 3 years broadcast television maintenance experience and must have maintained ENG and studio cameras. Must have an engineering background that would include the repair and preventative maintenance of Sony broadcast video tape players. Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the electronics of SDTV and HDTV television formats. A solid working knowledge of the maintenance and operations of broadcast equipment such as: digital video, microwave, satellite systems, broadcast distribution and interconnect systems that include: fiber, telephone, LAN, WAN, serial data, and remote control telemetry.
