Anchor/Reporter Full Time Regular
Anchor 5P & 9P newscasts M-F and also develop/produce field and series pieces for various newscasts, web, and social media outlets. Will maintain daily blog, represent station in community activities, and mentor less experienced reporters, producers, and anchors. Will participate in editorial process and foster proper newsroom etiquette and philosophy. Requires degree in Journalism or related field and 5 years experience as broadcast television anchor. Must be computer literate and proficient with multi-media formats. Need to have excellent communication skills and demonstrate positive attitude, leadership skills and good news judgment.
Photographer Full Time Regular
Shoot on Panasonic P2 and non-linear edit. Operate camera, lights, wireless mics, portable/permanent editing gear, Avstar newsroom software, cell phone, and 2-way. Safely operate microwave live truck while following company and industry safety standards. Must willingly accept direction from Assignment Desk. Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field preferred. Three years paid broadcast news experience as a photographer/photojournalist required.
Producer Full Time Regular
Write, arrange, and coordinate live and taped elements into a compelling, well-paced newscast. Communicate with field crews, assignment desk, directors, and news room management. Must exercise sound news judgment. Requires degree in Journalism or related field and three years “paid” newsroom experience as producer. Must have proven track record of success. Need to be computer literate and possess good interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for success in this position.
Assignment Editor Full Time Regular
Responsible for monitoring scanners, maintaining the assignment file, and coordinating field crews. Requires self-starter with good news judgment and the ability to multi-task and think quickly in a fast paced environment. Need good eyes & ears for news and the ability to get the word out to the staff. Two years newsroom assignment desk experience required. Must also be a team player with the ability to work well under pressure for extended periods of time. Must have excellent communication skills, both written & verbal.
CREATIVE SERVICES
Promotion Producer Full Time Regular
Responsibilities will include: write, produce, and edit topicals/pre-show teases; produce PSA’s and assist with updating promotion, public service, website and social media content; produce image, topical, proof of performance, and entertainment, as needed; tag network and syndicated spots; back-up log editor. Requires BA or equivalent experience in television production, advertising, design, or multi-media production. Min 2 yrs experience in creative services production, cable or multi-media environment. Must also have 2 yrs experience with Avid, Final Cut Pro or equivalent editing or compositing software. Must have superior writing and per-visualization skills with emphasis on translating marketing goals into effective advertising. Must demonstrate ability to work with wide range of on-camera talent. Superior collaboration skills in a deadline driven environment are required. Prefer candidate with advanced knowledge of motion graphics and sound sweetening. Knowledge of Photoshop, After Effects, basic or advanced HTML and Flash a PLUS! Must be self-motivated and be able to work flexible hours when necessary.
SALES
Traffic Assistant Full Time Regular
Responsible for orders data entry, confirmation and verification of contracts, building formats for programs, clearing rejects, pulling show formats, and to serving as back-up to continuity personnel. Will also log edit one log per week (KTXH), and coordinate with Nat’l sales on Paid Program schedule. Minimum 2 yrs broadcast traffic experience required. Must be a team player, highly organized, and extremely detail oriented. Must be able to work within strict guidelines and time parameters. Must possess good communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to interact with other departments to accomplish Sales and Traffic goals.
ENGINEERING
Engineering Operations Manager Full Time Regular
Responsible for supervising/scheduling master control operators, coordinating incoming/outgoing SAT fees, facilities maintenance including interacting with various vendors/service providers. Administrative duties will include processing purchase orders/invoices, maintaining capital worksheets/paperwork, and participating in the annual budget process. College degree preferred. Requires minimum 5 years on-air ops and automated systems (Omnibus, Harris, Florical) supervisory experience. Must have working knowledge of on-air operations (master control) in order to fill-in as needed. Must be able communicate effectively with staff, station department mgrs, and upper management. Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
