Assignment Desk Assistant (Posted 2/10/11)
KHOU-TV, a Belo-owned station, is looking for an individual to work part-time on the newsroom assignment desk. The selected candidate will be responsible for gathering news and assigning crews.

Additional responsibilities include the ability to monitor police and fire scanners for breaking news; having good news judgment to evaluate possible stories sent to us by e-mail and phone; helping to plan for major events and upcoming stories and assisting reporters in developing and setting up their stories. The candidate needs to be creative, organized and good at details. The position requires a good communicator who can keep managers, news producers and KHOU.com well-informed of breaking news and other changes.

A minimum of six months experience on a TV newsroom assignment desk is preferred and the ability to work flexible shifts is required. A college degree is preferred.

Production Operator (2/9/2011)
KHOU-TV, a CBS affiliate, is seeking a part-time “Production Operator”. Duties include operation of studio cameras and other studio equipment for live newscasts and various studio productions. Other duties may include operating field cameras, studio audio and editing. Candidates will preferably have video production and editing experience. College degree preferred.

KHOU.com is currently looking for an Interactive Sales Assistant. The selected candidate’s primary focus will be to oversee the development and implementation of online sales campaigns. This person will assist a diverse sales team in developing great online creative. Responsibilities include; assisting with order entry, order implementation and follow-up reporting. Additional responsibilities will include assisting the sales management team with assigned tasks as needed. The selected candidate will need to be: a self starter, organized, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with online sales and online insertion order systems will be helpful, but not required. College degree preferred.

KHOU.com is searching for an Interactive Sales Specialist who will be responsible for calling on local retail accounts and advertising agencies in the Greater Houston Area. The selected candidate for this position must possess a thorough working knowledge of Search Engine Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, Internet banner sales including Advanced Targeting, E-mail marketing, Mobile Media and Social Media. A minimum of one year experience in interactive sales or teaching/training required. College degree preferred.
