Position: Director, Corporate and Foundation Giving
Location: Houston – Main Office (6437 High Star)
Salary: $40 – $50k
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute annual strategy to prospect, cultivate, steward, procure, and renew corporate and foundation gifts
- Manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation donors and prospects, including execution of an annual solicitation plan to secure gifts and grants
- Represent and communicate full spectrum of BBBS programs, outcomes and giving opportunities to the corporate community and foundation funders
- Collaborate with other BBBS resources to develop, offer strategic input, and review funding proposals
- Assist with prospecting for, and connecting with, new corporate and foundation giving opportunities and partnerships
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years sales or non-profit fund raising experience, including prospect research, cultivation and solicitation
- Possess the desire to grow and a willingness to participate in advanced training to support major gifts and individual giving
- Professional poise to articulate the agency’s vision/mission in a compelling and inspiring manner
- Possess a high level of oral and written communication skills
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of the Houston philanthropic and non-profit community
- Possess an outgoing, approachable, charismatic, persuasive and flexible demeanor
- Possess the flexibility to manage competing time and project demands required in a time sensitive, high profile environment
- Ability to grasp and organize concepts quickly and translate them into actionable steps
- Possess the maturity and sense of urgency to achieve measurable results
- Ability to work well within a team environment balanced with effective self-management activities
- Flexibility to travel throughout BBBS service area, as well as participate in early, after-hours, or weekend fund development/agency activities
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
