Position: Resource Development and Event Manager
Location: Houston – Main Office (6437 High Star)
Salary: $40 – $45k
Position Responsibilities:
- Serve as lead for signature Bowl For Kids’ Sake campaign and the auto raffle fundraising program
- Support the overall efforts of the development team activities throughout the year, including, but not limited to the Bowl for Kids’ Sake Big Bowl, the Gala, the Rachel McNeil Golf Tournament, Swing for Kids’ Sake, corporate match opportunities and other special corporate fundraisers and campaigns
- Serve as liaison with event participants, sponsors, and volunteers, including appropriate stewardship of all gifts
- Collaborate with Director to develop and manage event budgets
- Lead full cycle event committee and volunteer management
- Collaborate/participate in sponsorship development
- Coordinate corporate matching gifts for volunteers and individuals
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or secondary education in Business, Marketing, or related field
- Two years event management and/or fundraising experience
- Work schedule flexibility to accommodate travel within Houston service area and to work pre-to-post event planning and activities in the early morning, evening, and weekends
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Advanced proficiency PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel
- Advanced database proficiency with accurate and fast-paced data entry abilities; Raiser’s Edge and Kintera experience a plus!
- Possess an outgoing, approachable and flexible demeanor
- Possess the flexibility to manage competing time and project demands required in a time sensitive, high profile environment
- Ability to grasp and organize concepts quickly and translate them into actionable steps
- Possess the maturity and sense of urgency to achieve measurable results
- Ability to work well within a team environment balanced with effective self-management activities
